Wolfe Moves House for America250 Commemorative Park
May 15, 2026 | Wolfe House Movers relocated a two-story home in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, this week to create space for a commemorative community park near the historic 1776 Dobbin House Tavern. Timed to coincide with both the United States’ semiquincentennial celebration and the Dobbin House’s own 250th anniversary, the park will feature displays of the nation’s founding documents along with public dedications, living history programs, and educational presentations focused on early American history.
Rather than demolishing the structure, the home was carefully relocated to preserve it for the future. The building is expected to be renovated at its new location, allowing another piece of Gettysburg’s historic character to continue serving the community for years to come.
