When development plans in downtown Tempe put a historic home in the way, structural relocation came to the rescue. Wolfe House & Building Movers stepped in to move the Harry Walker house, a single-story building built in 1903 that has served many roles over the past century, from private residence to office space to a popular local restaurant for more than thirty years.

Wolfe’s skilled personnel and advanced hydraulic jacking system and house-moving dollies protected the brick structure during lifting and transport, keeping it stable throughout the process. Wolfe completed the relocation at night to minimize traffic disruptions in the city, expertly transporting the 36’x36′ brick structure a half mile through city streets to its new site.

By relocating the Harry Walker house, the city was able to move forward with its development goals while also preserving an important part of Tempe’s history.
