House Lifting

Lake Ariel, PA / January 2026

This 24’x30′, 1½-story home tucked into a wooded lot had a 4′ block crawlspace under it. The owner wanted to utilize the crawlspace by adding headroom for a full basement. He contracted Wolfe House Movers to lift the building 5′ and support it while a new foundation and block walls were built under it. When the walls were finished, Wolfe lowered the building onto them.

Lifting the house made it possible to turn what was basically dead space into a full basement, without having to expand into the surrounding woods. In settings like this, raising a structure is often the most practical way to gain usable living space.
